Location of the Nomadic Desert Camp

The Nomadic Desert Camp is located within the breathtaking golden sands of the Oman desert, called Wahiba Sands, some 20 km south of the village of Al Wasil in the Sultanate of Oman.

The Camp

• an idyllic camp surrounded by golden shimmering sand dunes.
• well equipped palm leave huts (called Barasti) with comfortable beds (matttress, blankets, pillows and fresh sheets); bungalows in the Oman fort style are also available.
• modern restrooms and showers .
• a comfortable Arabian Majlis with a raised sitting area for meeting and relaxation; attached to the Majlis is the dining area.
• a cosy barasti for coffee and tea breaks orfor smoking a traditional hubbly bubbly.
• a fully equipped kitchen (including refrigerator), in which delicious meals are freshly prepared
• a fire pit for barbecues and a romantic camp fire.
• upon request we share an evening with unique Bedouin dancers and musicians.

 
The camp is not equipped with a generator so there is no air conditioning (except by nature). Gas is used for the cooking and refrigeration; paraffin lamps and candles provide light. The camp is therefore a very peaceful place to relax and to experience authentic desert nights.
